Who we are

The Literacy Group of Waterloo Region is a non-profit organization that offers adults over the age of 18 free help with skills upgrading to improve basic reading, writing, math, computer and workforce skills.  Through volunteers and staff, we provide a variety of programs and services in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the four Townships.

Through the help of our volunteers we provide in excess of 25,000 hours of adult literacy training per year.

Mission

 The Literacy Group of Waterloo Region is a community based organization that provides accessible literacy training services to empower adults to reach their goals and improve their quality of life.

Vision

We will be a model for adult literacy services and play a key role in Waterloo Region achieving the highest literacy rates in Canada.

The staff, students, volunteers and board of The Literacy Group of Waterloo Region are committed to the following values:
